Advanced teleprompter tips:
Mirror your smartphone to an external screen
-
A second portable screen displays a duplicate of your smartphone screen. Engadget has the details. Great for remotely scrolling the script from your Android phone. If you have an Android phone and a tablet, some apps allow you to mirror your screen to the tablet, so you could run a teleprompter app on your phone, and scroll the script on your phone and put the tablet on InvisiPrompt.
Connect a bluetooth mouse to your Android phone or tablet
-
Using the scroll wheel of a mouse to scroll your script is probably easier than sliding a finger on the touch screen. How-To Geek has details on connecting a bluetooth mouse to your Android phone or tablet. By using a wireless mouse, you could even scroll the script yourself while standing in front of the camera.
See your script AND yourself on the teleprompter
-
Want to see how you look on camera while seeing the script on the teleprompter? You could put a small video monitor next to your tablet, so that on the teleprompter screen, you'll see both. You could arrange the two in different ways, such as one on top of the other, or beside each other. This could also be useful in live shoots for the talent to see a live feed from the control room in addition to the script. Note: The reflected video you see on the teleprompter screen will be flipped (like how it is in a mirror), so if you want to see it unflipped, additional hardware may be required to unflip it.

Many small video monitors are available online, although few have HDMI input, so you might have to connect it to the RCA (yellow) output on your camera. If the monitor provides a BNC cable, you'll need a BNC female to RCA female adapter. If the monitor uses a built in BNC input, you'll need a BNC male to RCA female adapter. Note: InvisiPrompt does not natively support mounting 2 display devices, so a third party method is needed to mount 2 display devices on the display holder. Note: This method is recommended only for still-shooting on a tripod in a non-moving environment, as unstable or moving environments could make having 2 video displays mounted a hazard.
